Meet The Members of The Grace Manor Haints

Carson Mars

is a lifelong songwriter from Hattiesburg, MS. He began performing and releasing music in 2017 with a band The Holly Rogers, and can be found as a member of Half Dollar Rodeo and The Grace Manor Saints.

Drawing from inspirations such as Jason Isbell, John Prine, Jeff Walker, and various other artists with names that start with the letter J, Carson clearly has a deep love for the poetry of “mostly true” stories.

Meiry Yates

originally for Paraíba, Brazil, her musical journey began at twelve before moving to the U.S. at nineteen. While her training is rooted in the classical realm, earning a Bachelor of Music Performance from William Carey University, her true passion is the vibrant, rhythmic sounds of Brazilian music.

She brings the soulful energy of Northeastern Brazilian music such as Forró and Choro to her violin playing. Drawing inspiration form iconic artist like Djavan, Chico Buarque, and Alceu Valença as well as the legendary sounds of Dominguinhos, Sivuca, and Luiz Gonzaga. She blends her technical abilities with authentic Brazilian heartbeat.

Colten Yates

is a versatile percussionist from McComb, MS. His work spans live performance, education, composition, and production; and holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Mississippi where he studied a wide range of percussion styles.

He draws his inspiration from a wide array of music spanning Rock, Country, Jazz, Latin, and Classical music. He is currently a member of Half Dollar Rodeo and The Grace Manor Haints.
