About the Sound

The Grace Manor Haints blend southern storytelling with the jangle of modern indie songwriting.

Formed in Hattiesburg, MS in 2025, on one hand the group draws inspiration from the likes of Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, John Prine, and Shel Silverstein. On the other hand, there is Pavement, MJ Lenderman, and Deer Tick.

The group features Carson Mars on guitar and vocals. He is the soul of the group bringing his mix of serious and somber, to funny and quirky storytelling and songwriting abilities.

Meiry Yates creates the sweet and melodic sound of the group through her fiddle playing. It evokes a feeling deep in your soul that can only be explained through music.

Colten Yates holds down the groove behind the drums. He can range from quiet ballads to hard rock & roll.
